Vista Farms at Vista Brewing
$2,500 LifeWorks Restaurant Group Entrepreneur Grant and $2,500 Jeff Conarko Grant for Sustainability: $5,000
In creating Vista Farms, owners Kent and Karen Killough restored part of Vista Brewing's back pasture, grazed by cattle over the past 50 years, to farmland once again. Grown with low till using water- and soil-conscious methods, the harvests serve the property's restaurants and are seasonally sold to the public on-site and through the Dripping Springs Farmers Market.
Funding will aid in constructing a water treatment system that will significantly advance soil health and serve as an educational platform for local climate-friendly agriculture.
