The Gina Burchenal Grant: $5,000
The Cook's Nook supports Austin-area artisans, mobile food vendors, and caterers who are in the early stages of their culinary businesses. Led by founder Joi Chevalier, the unique incubator offers business development and networking tools. A commercial kitchen, coworking and event space, and demonstration kitchen to provide turnkey solutions for business development.
The grant provided a one-year incubation membership to a new culinary entrepreneur from an underserved population. It also helped create a small-batch production team and process and aided the development of new community programs for those wishing to innovate new products at low risk.
