$10,000 Favor Delivery Grant for Local Restaurants
Candace and Aekkasit Roddam serve crave-able Thai-inspired foods including omelets, dumplings, and seasonal curries with their mobile food business Kin Khao Thai Food and are regularly found at Pearl Farmers Market and other locations around San Antonio. The pair plans to build a greenhouse to grow herbs and Southeast Asian vegetables year-round to account for a limited San Antonio growing season and a scarcity of local Thai suppliers. The project will raise awareness of an internationally lauded cuisine and create opportunities to supply the San Antonio community with locally grown produce.
The grant money will allow the pair to purchase shelves, roof vents, and seeds to get the greenhouse off the ground.
