Premiere Events Community Grant: $2,500
Under the direction of instructor Said Farraje, Hutto High School has been a leader in culinary vocational education in the Central Texas area. Each school year, the program prepares 80 students for careers in the food industry, with a focus on extending learning beyond the classroom walls.
Grant funding will go toward the construction of a mobile barbecue pit, allowing students to compete in the Annual Texas High Schools Barbecue Competition. Additionally, the funding will go toward an irrigation system for the school’s vegetable and herb garden.
