$5,000 Luck, TX Family Grant for Inclusivity in Culinary Culture and $2,500 Premiere Events Community Grant: $7,500
Former grant recipient Farmshare Austin works to grow a healthy, just, and equitable local food system by increasing community food access and cultivating new farmers. Located on a 10-acre certified organic farm in Eastern Travis County, the nonprofit focuses on regenerative farming and increasing community food access with its Fresh for Less Mobile Markets & Home Delivery for weekly, year-round source of reduced-price, farmers' market quality produce and healthy grocery items in more than 22 zip codes.
The first organization in Austin to use the equipment to enhance soil regeneration, Farmshare will use grant funds to purchase a multi-use flail mower and cover crop seeds.
