Farmshare Austin
AFWA Grant: $2,000
Local nonprofit Farmshare Austin, a 2017 grant recipient, has a mission to grow a healthy local food community by increasing food access through mobile markets, teaching new farmers, and preserving farmland. Its Farmer Starter program grows the next generation of farmers by providing the hands-on training and skills needed to start a sustainable agricultural business. With this grant, Farmshare will be able to purchase new equipment for the incubator farm, helping the organization further equity and justice in the food system.
