Professional baker and pastry chef Mariela Camacho, the owner of Comadre Panadería, draws from her experience as a first-generation American and daughter of Mexican immigrants to create high-quality bread and pastries inspired by the Latinx diaspora and its rich food culture. Using local and organic ingredients and traditional techniques, she approaches baked goods as a way to nourish rather than do harm. Comadre Panadería is seeking funding to grow its San Antonio-Austin business and provide more jobs and stewardship to marginalized women.
